For the mother reading this
"You will miss the way they look right now
more than you can imagine."
A Chelmsford mother, 2024
Senior year moves faster than anyone warns you. The face across the dinner table — the one you have watched change every single year — is about to change again, permanently, when they walk out the door in August.
Phone photos taken between practices and homework do not do it justice. This is the last chapter you will witness up close. A fine art portrait commission documents exactly who they are at this moment — their confidence, their style, the particular way they carry themselves at seventeen.
For your wall. For the next forty years. For the first morning you walk downstairs after drop-off and the house is quiet.

Their portrait stays when they don't
The room will be empty.
The walls won't be.
Every family I photograph asks the same question in the weeks after drop-off: "Why didn't we do this sooner?" The portrait on the wall becomes the anchor — proof that they were here, that they were exactly this person, at exactly this age.
Not a screensaver. Not a file buried in a camera roll. A large, luminous portrait in your living room that greets you every morning — your senior, at their most confident, most themselves, right before everything changed.

Directed — they just show up
Outdoors or in the studio —
your family leads.
Every family is different. Some stories unfold best in the golden light of a New England autumn. Others belong in the calm of the studio. We choose together.
An editorial portrait
built around them.
Location, wardrobe, lighting — all planned before we pick up the camera. Every session is bespoke.
What every parent asks
Your concerns, answered honestly.
These are the three things families tell me they wished they had known before senior year ended.
01
"I'm not sure they'll cooperate."
They never think they will. Then the session starts, I put them at ease, and twenty minutes in they forget a camera exists. Every senior I have ever photographed left genuinely surprised by how much they enjoyed it. This is not the school photographer. There is no countdown from three.
02
"We can always do it next year."
This version of them — exactly this age, this face, this chapter — exists only right now. Next year they are a college student. The confidence they carry at seventeen, the way they look before the world reshapes them — that is what you are capturing. There is no next year for this portrait.
03
"We just need a few nice photos."
You could. Or you could have a 30×40 archival canvas portrait in your living room that stops everyone who walks through the door — your senior, at their most themselves, larger than life, permanent. Not documentation. Art. The kind that gets pointed out to grandchildren.
STEP 01
The Design Consultation
Wardrobe, location, colour palette, wall art vision — all planned together before we pick up a camera. You arrive knowing exactly what to do. Your children arrive with nowhere to be.
STEP 02
The Directed Session
Two hours. I direct everything — every position, every moment. You focus on being together. No one wonders what to do with their hands. The images feel like your family because they are.
STEP 03
The Reveal & Installation
Wardrobe, location, colour palette, wall art vision — all planned together before we pick up a camera. You arrive knowing exactly what to do. Your children arrive with nowhere to be.
A glimpse at the work.

Every commission is designed to live on a wall — not a phone. A large, luminous portrait in your home, installed by Luciana. Permanent art that tells the story of this exact moment.

Senior portraits families treasure.
★★★★★
"I didn't realize how much I needed these photos until I saw them. That was my child — at their most confident, most themselves, right before everything changed. I cry every time I walk past the portrait in our hallway."
— Sophia M.
★★★★★
"Luciana is an incredible photographer! She was extremely personable and fun to have our photo session with. I would absolutely recommend her work and would love to book another session in the future. Thank you for everything!"
— Regina M.
★★★★★
"The installation was the moment I broke down. Seeing our family — all four of us — on the wall of our home at that size, that quality. My husband keeps walking past it just to look. It's extraordinary work. Worth every single dollar."
— George S.

QUESTIONS
Everything before you book.
Still have questions? Reach out directly — happy to talk through the right session type for your high school senior.
When should we book for the best results?
Summer sessions — June through August — produce the best outdoor light and allow time for artwork delivery before fall. For Class of 2026, now is the right time. Sessions book 6–10 weeks ahead and the golden-hour summer windows fill first.
Where do senior portrait sessions take place?
In our Chelmsford studio or at outdoor locations throughout Greater Boston — Red Wing Reservation, Concord fields, Westford estates, the Merrimack Valley, and more. Location is chosen during the Design Consultation based on your senior's personality and the look you want.
What is the investment for senior portraits?
Investment begins at $850. Most families invest between $850–$3,000 depending on artwork selected. Digital-file-only packages are not offered — every commission results in wall art you can hold, frame, and hang.
My senior says they hate having their photo taken. Will this work?
This is the most common thing I hear — and it almost never becomes a problem. Sessions are unhurried and conversational. Seniors leave genuinely surprised by how comfortable they felt. George (above) had never done a shoot before. Read his review.
How is this different from the school photographer?
The school photographer has three minutes and a fixed backdrop. I have two hours, a custom plan built around your senior specifically, and 20+ years of portrait experience. The results are portraits that actually look like your child.
Can I be in some of the photos with my senior?
Absolutely — and I encourage it. Parent-and-senior portraits are among the most treasured images families receive. The last photo of the two of you before they leave for college belongs on a wall too.
Their senior year
only happens once.
Senior portrait commissions are limited each season. Serving Chelmsford High, Westford Academy, Concord-Carlisle, and Acton-Boxborough since 2017.
